Mayaux calls on a very different tradition: the mocking, visually paradoxical Surrealism of Rene Magritte, mixed with Marcel Duchamp’s pun-laden erotics. A master of faux-anonymous representational style, Mayaux often loads his paintings with outrageous sexual-puns.
